CALDERON ACRES G.C. AND R.V. PARK 2011 SPRING LETTER

Spring has almost sprung at least on the calendar anyways. From our family to yours, we would like to take this opportunity to welcome back our seasonal families as well as our new families. Due to a higher than normal snow fall, it looks like we are going to have a "moist" spring, to say the least.

At this time we ask all customers to stay/drive on the roads and your site only so we don't punch out the edges of the roads and mark-up other people's sites. Call the office if you did not receive the new combination for the entrance/exit metal gates last fall. The gates will be locked this season from 9pm til 7am, during these hours we ask if you come or go that you lock the gates behind you. Please see note attached for new winter camping restrictions, a small inconvenience to keep our park safe.

Garden plots should be ready to go by the second to third week of May. Check with office before you plant. Please don't take up any more space then you need because we have to accommodate a lot of families such a small area. The bigger plots are multiple families. Please don't toss you rocks into the grass because the blades on the mowers get shredded to pieces, not to mention the danger from flying rocks from the mower decks.

Only vehicles that have rented sites are permitted past the arm/keypad. All of your family/guests must park in visitor parking unless prior arrangements have been made with office. Customer's vehicles that are parking on sites other than their own, are now prohibited and enforced on a daily basis. We are trying to remove some of the excess vehicles from inside the park so we can water/mow/fertilize the sites, especially the vacant ones!

Don't forget that customers are responsible for their own site maintenance. If this is an issue, we now offer/charge for site maintenance. When kids are available, we should have a board posted at the store this season with a list of which kids are willing to mow sites for $$$. Did you hear that kids? Parents, please let me know if your tween/teenager would like to mow sites when they have time. Customer's let me know if maintaining your site is an issue.

Kid's curfew this year is 9pm for all kids to be at a site (not roaming the R.V. Park) and by 10pm. all kids to be where they are supposed to be at for the night! The only exception is the movie nights behind the shower and this exception is for kids at the actual movie and watching it. Not the ones running around telling us they are going "there now" or "I'm on my way". We will be strictly enforcing this curfew, because after 10pm we are tired to!

Store hours will be as follows:

Friday's 12pm – 8pm
Saturday's 7am – 7pm
Sunday's 7am – 5pm
Holiday Monday's 7am – 5pm

ALL EVENTS/TOURNAMENTS ARE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE AND AT THE STORE.

PLEASE SIGN-UP & PARTICIPATE

F.Y.I.- Our garbage still continues to be a issue. We don't have a land-fill or garbage dump. What the county provides to us, is a waste transfer facility. What this means is we are strictly scrutinized and restricted on what we can bring in for waste. Bagged garbage only please and if possible, please take it home with you. Nothing but food waste, no boxes/chairs/propane tanks/cardboard boxes/bbq's, etc. Nothing of the sort. We are trying to keep our costs down and to keep us from contracting this service out and passing on the costs to you. We are very appreciative and a big thank-you to those that have helped out so far. By the way the lids on the garbage bins are just like the toilet seats in the port-a-potties, if you keep them closed the flies won't be as bad!

Calderon Acres is looking once again for adult volunteers for some of our events. Mainly this is to assist us in organizing some of the tournaments and kids events and the occasional store relief/help. Please contact us if you are interested, our future events depend on your help/participation. On that note, all of the season's events are posted on our web site as well as mailed out to your home. We need a huge response/turn-out to make this work and I plead with all of you to let us know in advance who will be coming to what dates so we can organize some awesome summer fun!

We are in talks once again with various internet providers to see if we can get high speed wireless internet at the park. Every couple of years we get approached by a provider who promises us the moon when it comes to the internet, but no one has yet to make this happen. Mainly because there isn't a tower with a strong enough signal, close enough to us that it will work. Based on the last phone conversation with Rogers, they think they have the signal strength now. Here is hoping they are right.

Irrigation watering hours are strictly through the daytime only. No night time watering allowed! 9am – 9pm are your watering times. If you see someone watering their site from the water at the post a(well water) please tell them to stop or let us know A.S.A.P.

Did you hear about our screens for your sinks? These affordable and handy screens sit in your sink drain and collect all the food debris from going into your R.V. holding tank and your grey water hole. The difference is amazing and the smells are reduced drastically. We have them for sale at the store for $3.00

IN MEMORY

This past year, we lost a loved customer and dear friend Beth Anderson. Beth was our ray of sunshine with that unmistakable voice and smile that was very contagious. It did not take anyone very long to realize how big her heart was, and how warm and friendly she really was. We will miss her laughs by the fire. Those that new her were a better person for knowing her. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.
